See, this is what cracks me up when people insist that we all speak English. Not everyone understands English idioms the same way. In this particular case, when I said "Sorry, but that is the truth," it was intended to be synonymous with "Sorry, but that is my honest opinion." And that is exactly why I wrote "To me" at the beginning of the first sentence. To make it clear that I was expressing a personal opinion.
